Well you all certainly have opinions on the news that Wonder Woman and Superman will be getting together.Some are happy, most are unhappy and a few are just “rrrrrrrrr glubbb shuddup”. I posted some thoughts last night.

Moving on!

First up for those of you who weren’t concerned about how Wonder Woman would be positioned in this, I suggest you watch this video from “Good Morning America” where she is called a “homewrecker” who has been chasing Superman since 1988.

Yeah, that’s not problematic.

Oh and there’s this:

Note:

1) No specific mention of Wonder Woman

2) That her essence is boiled down to “sexy”

3) She’s his “sidekick”

That’s empowering, isn’t it?

I guess you could argue this is just their take but I’m doing media work all day, every day. You don’t get this angle unless the seeds are planted. And if you’re not happy with the angle then you call it out or ask that it be corrected.

But all is not head deskable! I think NPR has, in the form of text messages, exactly how I think this hook-up should happen.

I’m not going to watch that video because I feel like my head will fucking explode if I have to hear one more fucking person demonize Diana for DC’s shit decision making.

I mean, really though, homewrecker? Superman’s side kick?

The only people I’ve seen spouting idiotic comments like these have been people who don’t know shit and from mouthy fucking fanboys who are quick to call her a ‘whore’ and that she ‘sure does get around.’ (All of the negativity I’ve seen toward Diana has been on Facebook and not on here, thankfully.) I mean, some of the comments I’ve seen (like on Newsarama’s Facebook page, oh my fuck) make me wish I could put my fist through the computer screen and punch these guys in the throat.

Fuck this and fuck the DCnU—a waste of time and a waste of fucking money.
